September Favorites: Practical Everyday Essentials

Hello Friends,

I cannot believe we are already in October, and autumn is officially upon us. In September, I still feel like we are enjoying the last of summer. I cherish September's warm afternoons and morning breeze. But now, it is scary to realize that Halloween is almost here. And the rest of the fall and winter holidays are not that far away.

As always, at the beginning of each month, I put together a short post about last month's favorite items, whether it is skincare, makeup, clothes, or shoes.

So without further ado, let's dive in.

Sneakers

First, I want to talk about footwear. You probably know that I consider a white sneaker to be a wardrobe essential, a must-have, and a lifesaver. I know it is a bit dramatic, but the white sneaker earned its place in the fashion world.

This past month, as the weather got colder, I wore my New Balance Fresh Foam Roav sneakers nonstop. They pair well with everything in my wardrobe, from sweatpants to jeans to dresses.

White sneakers are truly versatile, practical, and stylish. Gone are the days when women had to wear formal footwear with dresses and skirts. It is on-trend and chic to pair polished clothes like dresses and pencil skirts with laid-back shoes like sneakers and trainers.

Styling Tip: White is not a must, but it is easier to pair white with most outfits. It is a perfect neutral that adds style to any look without taking anything away.

Jewelry

Second on my list are my favorite pearly pears. I bought a Bold Pearl Necklace and Bold Pearl Drop Earrings from Mejuri more than a year ago. And I used to wear them all the time at first. Then I put them aside. Maybe because it was summer, I might have felt that chunky pearls were too much for delicate tops and dresses.

But last month, I rediscovered pearls in my jewelry box. I am back to wearing them all the time, pairing them with sweaters, cardigans, and blazers.

My only problem with this particular Mejuri set is that yellow bits in the necklace oxidize and turn dark. I have to spend time polishing the tiny details. And it is not the most exciting activity, especially when I am trying to run out of the door.

Skincare

Third, I have been trying out a new-to-me skincare line: Sunday Riley. I bought a Wake Up With Me morning routine set about three-four weeks ago. I cannot say that I see the fantastic transformation since my skin was in a good state, to begin with. But I think my fine lines got better and less noticeable, my skin is brighter, and the sunspots faded.

I also bought a Luna Night Oil. I am not sure what is responsible for "fixing" my fine lines. It could be the Luna oil.

Beauty Tip: In the evening, as soon as you wash your face, apply Luna oil, thoughtfully massaging it into the skin. Then follow up with your night cream. I believe this combination does wonders.

Makeup

Last but not least, I have become obsessed with the new way I do eyebrows. I recently received a sample Brow Definer Pencil by Anastasia Beverly Hill from Sephora. I usually do not use a brow pencil, but I decided to try it since I got a sample pen. And now I am in love.

With the help of the Brow Definer, I add much-needed shape to my brows. I start by outlining the low border of my brows and then lightly fill in the rest of my brows. After that, I follow up with my favorite Benefit Brow Tinted Gel. Trust me; it is a whole new ball game! I highly recommend you to try it.

A few notes about Anastasia's pencil: it holds all day long without smudging. Even after a workout, my brows look perfect. I cannot believe I was afraid of a brow pencil for so long.

I hope you enjoyed my September Favorites Post. I only included items that I genuinely believe in and would recommend to my family and friends. I hope you give some of my September Favorites a try:

  • essential white sneaker

  • bold pearl jewelry

  • quality skincare

  • improved brow game

Please let me know what you loved this past month in the comments below.

xoxo,

Abi
