I cannot believe the autumn is already here, which means new fall trends, coats, scarfs, and fresh layers. Even though it is sweltering here in the Bay Area, I am ecstatic to get ready for cooler weather.
After reviewing various fashion magazines and runway shows, I narrowed down a shortlist of trends that spoke to me. The fall season promises to mix good old friends like oversized coats, leather jackets, and suits with a current-vibes of patchwork, geo, and floral prints, sprinkled with metallic sparkle finished off with a touch of animal prints.
Marie Claire Insights
Marie Claire has a great article on 2020 Fall trends (The Top Fall 2020 Trends to Know and Buy By Sara Holzman). There is some fall regulars like edgy plaid, sparkly metallics, oversized capes, bold sequences, and dark romance florals.
Interesting additions this season include geo prints, bows, and patchwork.

Chioma Nnadi, Fashion News Director, is eyeing a maxi-length dress with a lovely print that features florals and geo prints. A perfect dress that will keep you stylish and delivers much impact.
Coats & Jackets
Alexandra Gurvitch, Editor, and Christian Allaire, Fashion and Style Writer, are looking forward to wearing a coat or jacket this autumn. A great trench coat or classic leather jacket is a smart investment into your wardrobe that will last for many seasons.
Recently I got purchased a camel-colored trench from Sezane. I cannot wait to take it out!
Throws & Capes
Madison Barker, Assistant Market Editor, is excited to wear large scarfs, throws, blankets this fall season. The trend was popular on many runways and works perfectly in a current work-from-home environment.
