Beautiful Easy Face Makeup Routine For Beginners

Hello, My Friends:

Today, I thought we could chat about a simple makeup look. An everyday light routine that I like to do on most days. Since I am not an expert, please be patient with me. I will walk you through my simple daily routine and share some tips that I learned on my makeup journey.

So let's dive right in.

I prefer a light simple makeup look that requires little effort and skill. Because let's face it, I am far from being a pro.

The first step in my makeup routine starts even before I reach for my makeup bag. It begins with a daily skincare process. Investing in the best skincare products I can afford ensures that my skin looks its best. And the better it looks before makeup, the fewer products I need to use to cover any imperfections.

I. Prep

It is essential to prepare skin for makeup to ensure that all the products apply smoothly and evenly. I wash my face with a cleanser and use a daily light moisturizer. I follow up with sunscreen.

II. Complexion

Once I have my face prepped, I start with completion products. If I am not going anywhere special, I reach for EltaMD Tinted Sunscreen. If an occasion calls for something a little bit special, I grab Charlotte Tilbury's Flawless Filter in the shade Fair.

I apply a product carefully to make sure that it blends in well with my skin without leaving any streaks. Most of the time, I use my fingers when I apply complexion products.

Tip: Make sure that you apply products down the neck and blend it well. You want to avoid any sharp lines showing where the product ends, and your skin begins. So take your time and blend well!

III. Blush & Highlighter

Once I have my base ready, I go in with an Ogee Sculpted Face Stick in Rose Quartz. I apply it directly to the center of my checks, and then, using my fingers, I blend it in.

I follow up with an Ogee Highlighter in the shade Opal that goes on top of my cheekbones, cupid bone, and chin.

I finish my complexion with Charlette Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in the shade Fair. I start with my T-zone, slightly pressing the powder into the skin to make sure it sets in.

IV. Eyebrows

Then I move on to my eyebrows. For years, I have been doing my brows with Benefit's Eyebrow Gel. I love it because it is easy to apply and use. I'm not too fond of the look of made-up brows, but this definer makes me look so natural. It is also super easy to take off.

Tip: I spend more time working through the tail end of my brows to give them more color and definition.

V. Eyes

Most of the days, it is a simple look with mascara. I have the most fantastic mascara on earth: Thrive Causemetics' Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. It does not flake, smudge, or leave marks. It stays in place all day long without irritating. And a huge bonus: it comes off easily with warm water.

Tip: Because I have long lashes, I need to dry the top lashes to avoid mascara marks. So I do my top lashes first, then do my brows, then go in to finish up my bottom lashes.

VI. Lips

Last but not least. My favorite step - lipstick. I love to do my lips even if no one can see them under the mask. I know they are beautiful, and that is all that matters.

Here I have endless options and suggestions:

A. I will reach for my Dior Addict Lipstick in Dream Star for easy-breezy simple lips that still look gorgeous. It is so comfortable on the lips and easy to reapply. This lipstick is a striking pink color that breaths life into my face and brights up the whole look.

B. For a little bit more structure but still, without a lip pencil, I go for Lisa Eldridge's lipsticks. The formula is unique and non-drying. My lips are comfortable all day long.

I have two favorite Lisa lipsticks:

Note: these colors do not last if I eat or drink.

C. When I feel like I want a powerful long-lasting lip, I grab Patrick Ta's Lip Crayon in the shade That's Why She Is Late and Laura Mercier's Lipstick in the shade Coral Vif. I adore this combination for bright full red lips that give me a serious boost of confidence. Both products are long-lasting and will provide full coverage. They do not smudge or fade.

Tip: I like to fill in my lips with a lip pencil first and then apply lipstick on top for extra lasting wear.

And this is it - my simple everyday makeup routine. I hope you enjoyed this post. Please share your favorite products and techniques in the comments section. I love to learn about new products and get fresh ideas.
